Throughout his adult life, my neighbor, who was just like a grandfather to me, collected porcelain teapots. Becoming objects of fascination, I tried multiple times to observe all their details and hold onto their stories. In this artwork, I painted a teapot next to a vase of lavender. Being my favorite flower, I tried to find a deeper meaning behind its beauty. While pink is the colour of youth and purple-blue reminds me of grace, I always considered lavender a portrait of femininity.
Oil colours, water soluble wax pastels and black markers were utilized on the canvas.
