Bringing the female empowerment into this piece made me feel the need to accentuate even more the idea by adding one of the most powerful natural phenomena - Lightning strike. It seems to me that lightning is most spectacular when seen in the dark, creating a breathtaking effect. Due to this perspective, the subject I used has a shaded complexion.
In order to create this piece, soft pastels, white charcoal pencil, black markers, watercolour pencils, magazine paper and black gel pens were utilized on the A4 paper. |
